The easiest way to tell if someone is from the Hudson Valley can be answered by asking them this question.

"Have you ever visited Eggbert before?"

The majority of Hudson Valley residents will either say yes and share their story or claim that they've never been there but have heard of him before. Visitors may question who is Eggbert.

Hudson Valley natives would then continue to explain who the legendary egg is that represents our area.

Well, Who IS Eggbert?

I'm glad that you asked this question. Growing up, I always went to see Eggbert, it's a surprise to me if I meet another Hudson Valley native who hasn't done the same.

However, it may be even more bizarre if you aren't re-visiting Eggbert in your adult years, you must be doing the whole "adulting" thing wrong. Wouldn't this be the hidden secret to never growing up? Visiting Eggbert every holiday season could be the answer.

Eggbert has been the talk of the Hudson Valley for many years. He continues to draw in fans from all different states. Eggbert also makes visits throughout the Hudson Valley, including his time at Newburgh Brewing Company for fans to see him after dark.

Let's take a walk through Devitt's and see what we discover in Eggbert's world.

What Has Eggbert Said To You?

It's possible that Eggbert may already know your name, only true fans can figure out how he knows these kinds of things.  It's possible he'll throw in a "long time no see" if he's feeling up to it. Be sure to catch Eggbert on a good day or you truly may never know what he will let spill out of his mouth.

I had the chance to chat with one of the partners in the gift shop about my experience at Devitt's this year. I was impressed with the large selection of unique rooms and spaces to walk through, it was alot of fun.

I felt like a child again when I visited Devitt's this holiday season and had to bring home something to remember this remarkable experience. The Clair ornament is currently on my Christmas tree, she's just adding that bit of sass and glam to it.
