HV Power Co Expands Appliance Recycling Program, Is It Too Late?
Upset with Central Hudson and the increased charges for electric delivery to your home? Did you know that Central Hudson has a program that could try to make it up to you.
Central Hudson has an appliance rebate program, how does it work?
Central Hudson's appliance rebate program will pay you to get ride of (recycle) your working refrigerator or freezer and give you money for it, $100.
Wait, Central Hudson will give me money for getting rid of something out of my basement or garage?
Yep, sounds too good to be true, right? In the past Central Hudson did also have this program, but the change is that you can now recycle two appliances, instead of just one.
Does Central Hudson check to see if the appliance is working or not?
Yes, you will need to plug the appliance in the night before the recycle company comes to pick up your item(s). When do you get the rebate (money)? Allow for processing time, but expect it to take a few weeks.
What if the appliance company says they will take the old fridge or freezer away for me when I get a new one, should I not do that?
Listen, that is up to you. Ask this from the company that you are getting the new appliance from, are they going to charge you to remove the old fridge or freezer? If they are, wouldn't it be better for you to recycle the appliance and get the company who has been charging you more, to pay you? Think about it.
