Furry Friends in Immediate Need of Temporary Places to Stay
At this time, most of us are thinking about what we can do to help each other out. It could be as little as saying hi, waving to a passing stranger or supporting local businesses. It goes without saying that we may all need a little assistance right now but let’s not forget about our furry friends as well.
It brings me joy to see us all come together. We must remember to help out our friends who give animals without homes, love and care on a daily basis. Have you checked in with your local humane society or shelter? It could be as little as purchasing supplies and getting them delivered to their location or sending a monetary donation to help them feed and care for their furry friends.
At this time, the Ulster County SPCA is in need of emergency fosters. Fosters are needed for many reasons but especially since new litters are coming in (kitten season has begun). As the staff of the Ulster County SPCA maintain and care for all the fur babies, they also have to assist new animals joining the family. Fostering with the Ulster County SPCA can last for a month or longer.
If you’re wondering how you can be of assistance to them, I’m here to tell you all about it. They will match the foster parent with the foster pet who are best suited and compatible with them and their home. Typically, this won’t happen with a request of which furry friend you want, but you’ll be given one instead. However, if you’re interested in a certain fur baby, the Ulster County SPCA asks you to consider giving them a loving, fur-ever home.
Hopefully you are considering becoming a foster parent at this point (If I haven’t talked you into it enough, ha-ha). You can download the application to become a foster on the Ulster County SPCA’s website and then email it to email@example.com.
They remind the folks who want to help out that they are working with the staff that they have at this time and will get back to you as soon as they can.
The Ulster County SPCA is accepting fosters for dogs, cats, kittens and small animals.
They are temporary closed to the public at this time and are available by appointment only. If you are unable to foster a fur baby, please consider adoption or donations.
About the Ulster County SPCA
The Ulster County SPCA has been helping animals since 1891.They are a private and nonprofit organization within Ulster County, located in Kingston. They take pride in preventing animal cruelty. Ulster County SPCA provides shelter to homeless fur babies, neglected and/or abused animals. Once an animal is in their care, they seek out adoptable, loving homes for each one of them.
The Ulster County SPCA also conducts investigations of cruelty (THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE). They also provide spay and neuter services at a low cost for dogs and cats.
It’s hard to scroll through Facebook and the Ulster County SPCA’s website without wanting to give a precious shelter friend a fur-ever home. At this time, they are still working on adoptions by appointment. You can fill out an application to adopt a fur baby and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Once your application is reviewed, they will be in contact in regards to setting up and appointment to go into the SPCA.
They ask for the application to be saved as a Google Doc, PDF or Microsoft Word document.
The Ulster County SPCA is in need of donations. They prefer cash donations at this time and they can be mailed to their address: 20 Wiedy Rd, Kingston NY 12401.
On their website, you can make a donation via Paypal or credit card. You can also leave other donations at their location, in the bins which they have near their picnic bench.
The donations they receive go towards pet supplies for the fur babies along with the care and maintenance for them.
You can also donate to the Ulster County SPCA in a different way, by using AmazonSmile. A portion of your online order can be donated towards helping out the animals.
Do you have any fur kids that you love? Have you ever donated or volunteered your time? Share your experience with us below. Remember, be kind and spread love at this time and always. :)
