On Wednesday during his daily COVID-19 press briefing, Cuomo noted the COVID-19 pandemic is going to change America.

"As a society, we should start looking forward to how this will change us. Because this is transformative," Cuomo said. "When do we get back to normal? We don't get back to normal, we get to a new normal."

Cuomo has noted he's been very blunt during his press briefings because, in his opinion, the facts are empowering.

"This will be a transformative experience," Cuomo said. "We're never going to be the same. I don't think we get to a new normal. Our challenge is to make sure that change is positive!"

Cuomo confirmed 83,712 COVID-19 cases in New York and 12,226 people currently hospitalized. Over 3,000 are in ICU and over 6,000 have been discharged.

The number of deaths in New York increased by nearly 400, up to 1,941.
