Is there a spot to join the Algonquin Trail? Probably one of the best places to get on the trail (and having decent parking) Adirondack Loj and Heart Lake Program Center,, 1002 Adirondack Loj Rd, Lake Placid, NY 12946. The decent parking I mentioned? Expect to pay in the range of $15 to $20. The hike (as I have been told) is not an easy one, even trained hikers who are 'ready for it' might not be ready. Remember to pace yourself, dress for the weather and hydrate. Allow for the entire day to have an amazing experience.
