The second full week of September is dedicated to the men and women who drive trucks for a living. This week, as Wakin' Up with CJ and Jess told you this morning, is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. What would we do without all of our truckers  traveling the roads of America bringing us all of our goodies.

There is a pretty good chance we all know someone who drives a truck for a living. It could be a Hudson Valley highway department truck or maybe a local fire truck. Maybe you know an Over the Road (OTR) trucker who crisscrosses the country every week. All types of truck drivers are included in this week of recognition.

According to Alltrucking.com

Truck driving is a massive industry in the U.S., with 3.6 million employed as professional drivers and 7.95 million working in the transportation field in some way. This accounts for 5.8% of the overall United States workforce.

they also shared the fact that "there are 1.5 million delivery drivers and driver/sales workers and over 2 million heavy and tractor-trailer drivers" in the United States as of 2019.
