Stew Leonard’s Nominated as ‘America’s Best Supermarket’
One of our local supermarkets made the short list, against some very heavy hitters, in a USA Today poll of America's Best Supermarket, and there's still time to cast your vote if you love Stew Leonard's as much as I do.
USA Today has a website called "10 Best" which lists reader's top 10 choices of a lot of common things, one being Favorite Supermarket. Stew Leonard's has been nominated, and is in the running against 19 other supermarket chains, most of them National rivals, some I've never heard of: Aldi, Central Market, Foodland, Fred Meyer, The Fresh Market, H-E-B, Harris Teeter, Hy-Vee, Lidl, Market Basket, Mom's Organic Market, New Seasons Market, PCC Community Markets, Piggly Wiggly, Publix, Sprouts Farmers Market, Trader Joe's, Wegman's, and Whole Foods.
Stew Leonard's has been around exactly as long as I have, since 1969. They've grown from humble beginnings as a local dairy farm in Norwalk in the 1920's, to their first market in 1969, to now, 7 beautiful locations around the Tri-State area of Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York.
Here in Connecticut, you can shop at their Danbury, Norwalk, and Newington stores. If you've never been inside a Stew Leonard's, it's a very unique, fun shopping experience that makes them stand out amongst the competition. If you have kids, take them. Stew's is tailor-made to entertain children, with animatronic displays, to the real deal at their Petting Zoo (seasonal). There really is something for everyone in each of their markets, my personal favorite thing to do is browse their incredible meat and seafood departments. I always find something new that I want to try.
Anyway, if you love shopping at Stew Leonard's as much as I do, cast your vote in the USA Today poll, you can do so once a day, every day, until the poll closes on Monday April 12th, 2021 at noon.
