Should the Hudson Valley expect possible tornadoes as we head into the weekend?

It feels like we've been through the wringer when it comes to weather the past few weeks. It went from spring-like temperatures to rain and snow in a matter of days. However, it looks like it's finally going to be warming up this weekend.

Don't release that sigh of relief just yet. Hudson Valley Weather is monitoring possible severe weather on Friday, May 15.

According to a Facebook post by Hudson Valley Weather, they explain that "The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of our region under an enhanced risk for severe weather."

Severe weather includes "potential for large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado." Hudson Valley Weather believes the possibility of severe weather is expected between 7pm and midnight.

As they stated, they are currently just monitoring the storm and haven't made any definite calls. But Hudson Valley Weather explains that there are key situations that would cause severe weather, which includes the "ability for the sun to break out during the late morning and afternoon" which could possibly cause "instability ahead of the approaching cold front and fuel the strong to severe weather."
