A Look Inside The Destruction: Fires at the Hudson River Psych Center
The historic Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie, New York has been rocked by 2 fires in June 2026.
On June 3rd, 2026 flames ripped through 4 buildings on the abandoned property in Poughkeepsie destroying pieces of Dutchess County history. Days later, on June 8th, a 2nd fire erupted on the property.
While both fires were knocked down, but left behind a path a destruction. First responders sent in photos from the site as they kept watch for hot spots to prevent further blazes.

Hudson River Psychiatric Center Fires Under Investigation
As mentioned above, both fires were successfully knocked down.
Thankfully, there were no serious injuries reported during the blazes. However, 4 firefighters were treated both on and off the site of the fire.
The Fairview Fire Districted has done and incredible job at keeping the public up to date with any information regarding the fired.
As of June 10th, 2026, there are no publicly known motives for the fires and they are both currently under investigation.

Fairview Fire District shared in a statement that the following organizations are currently investigating the large blaze: Dutchess County Fire Investigation Bureau, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
