If you're thinking about heading back to any Hudson Valley State College or University this fall, you better have your COVID-19 vaccination card ready.

This fall, if you're not totally vaccinated, then your college education may have to be put on hold. All Hudson Valley Colleges and Universities will now be observing the new SUNY vaccine policy, and that means that as of Monday (May 10), all state and city Universities will now require students to get vaccinated in order to be able to attend classes this fall.

Colleges throughout the state, including Purchase and Westchester Community College in the Hudson Valley are already getting ready for the new policy.

According to patch.com, Purchase College President Dr. Milagros Pena was very optimistic about the full return to the classroom this fall, and was proud of the fact that more then half the students that attend Purchase College had already received at least one dose of the vaccine, plus the school is moving forward and assisting more students in getting the vaccine in the next few weeks.

Officials from all over are on board with this, with some at Westchester Community College saying its a step toward the fight of the virus . Vaccines are made available to students at their Valhalla campus. Multiple students have taken advantage of this, and  walk-in appointments are now available for those who haven't been vaccinated yet.

If your a returning Hudson Valley SUNY student you can get more information about this new policy at www.sunywcc.edu/vaccine.

Will this be the new normal across the board for all colleges and universities throughout the U.S.?
