Necco Wafers Make Return to Store Shelves, Who Likes Them?
Have you been thinking to yourself, "What could make this Covid pandemic isolation better?" and coming up with the answer being Necco Wafers? Well, you are going to get your highly unlikely wish. Spangler Candy, the candy gurus behind Dum-Dum lollipops and other must have candy, are resurrecting one of their retired candies, Necco Wafers.
According to a press release, the candy company thought that now was the perfect time to bring happiness and nostalgia to their customers with the return of a customer favorite. You might not know this but Necco Wafers actually date back to the Civil War, so you can enjoy something that was also enjoyed in almost the same colors and flavors as those soldiers did 150 plus years ago.
From the press release, here is what we can expect flavor wise:
There are eight all-time favorite flavors and colors in the Necco Wafers' comeback collection: lemon (yellow), lime (green), orange (orange), clove (light purple), cinnamon (white), wintergreen (pink), licorice (dark grey) and chocolate (brown). Seven of the eight flavors were designed to identically match the originals. True Necco Wafers connoisseurs may detect a richer cocoa flavor in the chocolate wafers due to a minor improvement made in the cooking process.
