One of New York’s most recognizable convenience store chains is making a massive investment across the state with plans to expand, rebuild, and renovate dozens of locations in 2026.

Stewart’s Shops have long been a centerpiece in many neighborhoods across New York, offering gas, milk, snacks, coffee, and more at numerous locations. Some of the stores are fairly new, like the location in Highland, NY, while others have been around for decades. One thing they all have in common?

They are part of a growing company!

Stewart’s Shops Expanding in New York

Stewart’s Shops announced this week that it is investing $55 million this year in upgrades and expansion projects across upstate New York and Vermont.

According to Stewart’s president Chad Kiesow, the investment comes as demand continues to grow for fresh food, drinks, and the company’s popular milk and ice cream products.

“There is a growing need for fresh, quality food and beverages, plus our award-winning milk and ice cream and other services,” Kiesow said.

Stewart’s is also continuing to rebrand 45 former Jolley stores acquired in late 2024, including locations in Queensbury, Clifton Park, Lake George, and Plattsburgh, NY.

In addition to the shop upgrades, Stewart’s is investing another $30 million into a multi-year expansion of its plant and commercial kitchen facility in Greenfield near Saratoga Springs, NY.

The family and employee-owned company currently operates more than 400 shops across New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
