Popular Sullivan County, NY State Park Reopens With Summer Activities

Sullivan County Catskills shared that Lake Superior State Park  has over 1,400 acres featuring the Chestnut Ridge Pond and a popular swimming area, Lake Superior.

They mentioned,

"The park is operated by the County of Sullivan pursuant to a Cooperative Agreement with the Palisades Interstate Park Commission."

I've been to Lake Superior's beach area before and it was a lot of fun. There are options to swim, have a picnic, rent a pedal boat and more. I also liked how they had bathrooms on site near everything along with shower stations too. 

What Summer Activities Are Available At Lake Superior State Park In Bethel, NY?

Guests can visit their swimming area, beach, use their grills on the picnic area, rent a kayak, rowboat and more.

On June 21, 2024, Sullivan County shared information about this park, their hours and what if offered on site

The beach at Lake Superior State Park is open for swimming on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day weekend until June. The hours of operations during those months are 10am until 6pm.

The beach at Lake Superior State Park opens daily towards the end of June and continues to stay open through Labor Day. Daily beach operation at Lake Superior State Park starts on June 29.

What Are The Hours Of Operation Of Lake Superior State Park In Bethel, NY?

From Monday through Thursday, the daily beach hours are 10am until 6pm and Friday through Sunday, the beach at Lake Superior State Park is open 9am until 7pm. 

Sullivan County Government made a post on social media about Lake Superior State Park and their hours of operation. A day pass for the beach at Lake Superior State Park is $5 per person, child under 3 years old can get in for free.

Veterans who have an ID through the program, Sullivan County Return the F.A.V.O.R can get in free with New York State senior citizens who are over the age of 62 (this is for weekdays only).
