
FDA Announces Recall On Popular Donut Products Sold In New York State
Before you grab your favorite sweet treat or breakfast option on the go, be sure to make sure that it hasn't been recalled.
There have been several recalls over the past couple of months and new ones recently.
Did You Know About These Recalls In New York State?
A few months ago, there were recalls relating to our favorite breakfast options, snacks and drinks. There were many recalls on waffles along with organic granola bars along with a sweet drink.
All of these grocery store items are usually on my list to purchase. I'm glad that I came across these recalls and that I'm able to share the news with others who also buy these.
MadeGood granola bars were recalled in 2024. 94.3 Lite FM shared that the MadeGood recalled granola bars that were distributed throughout the U.S., Canada and other locations. They were recalled because the granola bars may have contained metal.
94.3 Lite FM also shared that there was a recall on coconut water. This refreshing water is something that I drink everyday which was why I also wanted to mention this to my fellow coconut water drinkers.
Jarritos Coconut Water was recalled due to its seal on the cans that could have been "compromised".

FDA Announces Recall On Popular Donut Products Nationwide
Sometimes we want something sweet to enjoy for dessert or for our breakfast. Several news sources have been covering this recall.
The New York Post included that The Food and Drug Administration, also known as the FDA, has shared important information to consumers. It's explained as,
"The Food and Drug Administration has classified a recall of 60 different doughnut products to its second-highest level, the agency announced earlier this week in an update to its website. "
At first, the recall was announced on January 7, 2025. However, the FDA shared information in February 2025 that this recall was known as a Class II.
The New York Post explained that the products which were recalled were produced by FGF Brands. These items were sold at grocery stores not only in Canada but in the U.S. as well.
They mentioned,
"The total recall amounts to more than 2 million cases of doughnuts, fritters, paczki, eclairs and munchkins. "
Why Are There Recalls On These Donut Products Nationwide?
The New York Times shared the reasoning for the donut products recall is related to,
"concerns of potential contamination with the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes."
They explained that the recalled sweet treats include raspberry, chocolate and Barvarian doughnuts. Coffee rolls, eclairs and more were also on the recalled list.
Some of these goodies were sold at Dunkin. It's also important for us to know that the doughnuts and surfaces where the food had contact with, didn't test positive for listeria.
NBC New York included that these pastries were also sold in grocery stores and included options such as cinnamon sticks, apple fritters and more.
