Is This Really New York State’s Favorite Gas Station Snack?

Whether we plan ahead or not, sometimes we find ourselves at a gas station. We could be there to fill up on gas, to use the bathroom or to grab a snack.

Usually, I look forward to doing this at a local Stewart's. They truly have everything under one roof!

While the snacks at some gas stations aren't always a healthy option, it may be something that we grab in the moment and enjoy. Everyone has their go-to options at gas stations that satisfy a craving.

What Are The Most Popular Gas Station Snacks In The US?

Delish has shared some of the most popular snacks at gas stations across the U.S. States including Pennsylvania, Wyoming, South Dakota and others. They chose beef jerky as their favorite gas station, go-to. This snack is typically around $5. Rice Krispy Treats and Tobleronne candy were also popular in other states.

New Jersey doesn't think twice about spending more money on their favorite snack which is Hi-Chew coming in around $8. I've never had a Hi-Chew before and I've been to plenty of gas stations in New Jersey, including their Wawa's.

What's The Most Popular Gas Station Snack In New York State?

Delish shared the favorite gas station snack that New Yorkers purchase. Coming in at just over $1, Snickers is a go-to for most residents in New York state.

After stopping at gas stations with friends and family in New York state, I admit that we've never grabbed a Snickers. Then again, if I'm stopping at a gas station for more than gas, it's usually at Stewart's where I can purchase locally made goodies.

What Do New Yorkers Actually Get As Gas Station Snacks?

My go-to gas station snack varies. Sometimes I pick up a bag of Ritz-Bitz, a snack mix or sour cream and onion chips. If I'm feeling on the healthier side, I'll see if they have snacks with less ingredients and a better option.

Others that I have been with have chosen Pringles snacks, Cheez-It or pretzels. It appears that we like our snacks salty vs. sweet.
