Have you seen the cat statues lining the streets of Catskill? Did you think to yourself is that really a cat statue on the street or am I just seeing things?

What you saw/are seeing is a unique charity event that is taking place throughout the Town of Catskill now through September 19, 2020.

The Heart of Catskill Association is holding a charity fundraiser, where artists have donated the cat statues, 58 of them in all, each one with an different individual theme. The cats are then on display at different locations throughout the town, so you can see them and decide which one you want to bid on.

The Cat's Meow Gala will take place on Sept 19, 2020 at Historic Catskill Point, 1 Main Street, Catskill NY. Ticket prices for the event are $25 per person with the raffle tickets (for the cats) 1 for $5 or 5 for $20.

The funds raised from the event will stay local with the following recipients:

  • The participating artists
  • Local artists
  • Barry Hopkins Art Scholarship Fund
  • Heart of Catskill Association

Do you remember a few years ago when there were horse statues on the streets of Saugerties? In case you missed it, you can check that out here.
