We just had snow, but the next season is pushing its way into the Hudson Valley. I know it's been a mild winter, but I was really hoping we'd be able to escape without a big storm. The Hudson Valley got pretty clobbered the other day with snow (EWW), but it looks like spring is trying to get here quickly.

Signs of the spring season in the Hudson Valley?

I will cling to ANY hope of warm weather around here. My grandma used to always tell me that spring isn't that far away and can even be early when you noticed flowers blooming early and when you started to hear the birds again in the morning. She's usually spot on with her theories and has many more old wives tales to share. I was recently on Facebook and noticed that one Hudson Valley resident posted a very promising picture of what we can expect next for the season. It backed up when my Grandma has told me for years, but is it just us or is this good news?

The spring season is quickly approaching:

The picture above was taken in Beacon, NY and looks like some flowers have bloomed. We have had a warmer winter compared to the previous one and it can reportedly lead to different flowers and plants to have an earlier bloom. Buds do come earlier when there is a warmer climate and it definitely has been warmer around here the past few months. Unfortunately, it looks like we are expecting more snow in the forecast and we might have to wait a little longer for spring. UGHHHHH....

Have you seen any flowers or plants that have bloomed early in the Hudson Valley? Do you know any ways to see if the spring season will be coming earlier? Share them with us on the station app.
