Trader Joe’s Opening 21 New Locations in the U.S.
The new stores will open in 13 states across the country, including new stores in New York!
Grocery store fans across the Hudson Valley have longed for the Hudson Valley to be the next region the folks at Trader Joe's select to build a new store or two. For as long as I can remember, the rumor mill starts spinning a few times a year, giving fans hope that a new store is coming soon.
Trader Joe's Opening New Stores
The good news is that Trader Joe's is opening 21 new stores across the U.S., including stores in Alabama, California, Colorado, Washington, D.C., Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and New York. 10 of the 21 new locations are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025, according to News 10.
Trader Joe's Expanding in New York
Yes, New York is part of the new Trader Joe's expansion plan, but unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Hudson Valley will be getting a new location anytime soon. The closest store to Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange counties is the fairly new store at 3240 Crompond Road in Yorktown, NY. It's unclear why the Hudson Valley isn't a targeted destination for the grocery store chain, but we can still hope that one day they will open a store or two in the BEST part of New York.

Currently, they are 34 stores open across New York State, with two new locations opening soon in Staten Island and Glenmont, NY. The new Glenmont store in Upstate New York will be the Capital Region's third location to open in the last few years, joining stores already open in Halfmoon, NY, and on Wolf Road in Colonie, NY.
