Here’s How To Know About Upcoming Roadwork, Projects In New York State

There’s several ways to know that it’s summer in the Hudson Valley without looking at a calendar. The return of our wildlife friends, to see butterflies and bees, the fresh green grass and the warmer temps signify one of the best seasons within our state.

Along with knowing that it’s summer within New York state, we see more construction and roadwork. It seems as if it's the norm if we’re driving and come across any delays because of this.

However, there is a way to find out about upcoming roadwork and projects in New York state so we can take other routes.

What Are Some Helpful Features That Are Provided By New York State?

New York state keeps us informed about a variety of things on their website.

94.3 Lite FM explained that on the New York state DMV's website, they have a section that highlights Vehicle Safety Recalls. This feature is helpful and allows car owners to check out vehicle recalls and how to get replacements if needed.

In addition to being able to easily access recalls on our vehicles in New York state, there’s another helpful feature that keeps us informed about our roads and projects.

Here's How To Know About Upcoming Roadwork, Projects In New York State

This is easy! Head on over to dot.ny.gov/projects to see information about “Projects in your neighborhood”.

While on this site, click on search projects and then add in your information to the NYSDOT Region. If you live in the Hudson Valley then that’s what you would enter.

After doing that, you can then add your county to the next tab. Just by adding in these two slots and pressing the search projects button at the bottom, you should see a list under there. This will include projects within the desired area that you want to know about.

You can also add in your city, town and village information to see more specific information about the location you want to learn about.

Here's How To Know About Construction Within New York State

While on the same website, you can click on the construction projects tab as well. Be sure to enter in your address or place/location that you want to learn more about it. It will show up as planned projects, in construction or construction complete within the area.

Whether its for our commute or a way to maneuver around any delays on the roads this summer, these helpful features within New York state can make it a more relaxed and easy experience.
