If you are wondering when you may be able to get the COVID vaccination, certain segments of the general public could start getting at the end of next month.

Depending on who you talk to, certain people are taking a wait and see approach as far as their desire to get the coronavirus vaccination. Others want to get it as soon as possible. For the latter, how soon could the general public have access to vaccinations?

According to a Times Union story, Governor Cuomo says next phase  of vaccinations for "essential workers and members of the general public with preexisting health conditions who are most at risk for severe cases of COVID-19" should begin in late January. This phase will still not include most of us who are at low risk of catching of having severe complications from the virus, but once vaccinations move to the general public we will be one step closer to it being available to more of the general public.

Outside of contracting the virus, the waiting will still be the toughest part over these next few months. From the first shutdowns to the eventless summer, we have done a lot of waiting for the pandemic to improve ad for our lives to get back to normal. We are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, but now we need to sit back and wait again for the vaccinations to become available to us all. I think we are all so tired of waiting at this point, that said, maybe with an end in sight, staying patient these next few months will be a little easier than the past 9.
