Bizarre Trend Happening on Airplanes in the New York Area
It seems like a very strange trend has been becoming popular on planes and many New York residents are puzzled on why.
I'm pretty experienced when it comes to traveling and I've been on a lot of airplanes throughout my life. I recently went on an AMAZING vacation to visit family in San Diego, California (one of my favorite places) and I had a few connector flights so I spent a lot of time flying. Everything seemed pretty normal, but I noticed a very odd trend happening that seems concerning during airline travel. Maybe you have noticed it as well...
My first flight took off from New York and everything was going fine as we prepared for take off. We were literally starting to pick up speed and an announcement came over the plane saying "sir, you need to sit down we're taking off." Not even 3 seconds later the announcement was made again, but this time with a very strict and serious tone. Thankfully, everything was fine and we had a nice takeoff, but you could tell everyone was looking around nervous trying to figure out what was going on.
On my way back home the same thing happened...literally the exact same situation just on a different plane.
In all my years of flying, I have never experienced this before, especially not on the same trip. Lately, there have been a lot of stories about people becoming unruly and acting pretty nuts on airplanes so I wonder if this is just a branch off of that or if this is something odd that's just going on.
Whatever it is it needs to stop. Also, a huge thank you to all of the pilots, flight attendants and crew who help us all travel and keep us safe. You don't get thanked enough...
If you have experienced this or something else on an airplane share your story on the station app.
