It's always great to see local law enforcement getting positive recognition.

I was on Facebook the other day and noticed a sweet post from the Kingston Police Department. It stood out to me because everyone looked very happy in it and it looked like the department received some kind of award.

In the Facebook Post, it explained how the Kingston Police Department, Detective Benny Reyes (KPD), Investigator Tamme Stitt (Ulster County DA's Office) and Investigator Mark Baney (New York State Police) received a pretty special award. The specific name of it is the 'FBI N-DEX Success Story of the Year Award' for 2021, way to go.

More details on the award:

According to the post, the award recognizes the hard work and efforts that these members and all of the Kingston Police Department Detective Division showed while working and collaborating with the National Data Exchange (N-Dex) and its partners throughout the county. Wow, that is pretty incredible.

What is the National Data Exchange?

The National Data Exchange System helps criminal justice agencies and provides them with an online based tool that helps them search, share, link, and analyze information across jurisdictional boundaries. In a little bit simpler explanation, it helps "connect the dots" with places, people, and things that might not normally be connected and seem unrelated.

Thank you to the Kingston Police Department and all law enforcement agencies for what you do. You make the Hudson Valley a safer place for all of us and your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Since we are talking about positive things, here are some charming small towns in the area and a very interesting park:
