The Hudson Valley is a desirable location for all ages. Visitors enjoy the endless amounts of amenities during each season.

Hudson Valley residents have access to the natural beauty that surrounds us along with exploring locally owned businesses, learning at historical sites and more.

Our area has been visited by celebrities, mentioned on TV shows and movies. Over the past couple of years, it's known to be the hotspot for casting calls and film production locations.

I get excited when I hear TV shows or movies mention any towns within New York state, especially in the Hudson Valley. Some of our favorite TV shows including The King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends and Seinfeld have shown love to New York state in several episodes.

This King Of Queens Episode Roasts A Dutchess County, NY City

King of Queens has been one of my favorite shows, it's something that I still watch because it makes me laugh. This TV show featured Leah Remini as Carrie and Kevin James as Doug Heffernan along with Carrie's father in the show, Arthur who was played by Jerry Stiller.

Each King of Queens episode is hilarious and highlights their life, friends and experiences. In the show, Doug's occupation is a delivery driver while Carrie's role is a legal secretary.

In several episodes, Doug and Carrie mention that they escape Queens, NY and visit the upstate area. During the episode of China Syndrome including Part 1 and Part 2, Doug mentions a Hudson Valley town and city.

In the China Syndrome episode, Doug goes outside of a wedding venue that they are attending after the two of them were fighting throughout the night.

Carrie finds Doug outside and questions him of where he has been. Doug's response is

"Just enjoying the smells of Poughkeepsie"

This popular TV show also mentions Bear Mountain, NY in another episode.

During the episode of Home Cheapo, Doug mentions a popular location in Orange and Rockland County, NY. This is during Season 9 in episode 7 when Doug and Carrie head to their friends, Deacon and Kelly's lakehouse.

They make suggestions that Deacon and Kelly have been able to get this vacation home because Doug and Carrie always pay the bill nand buy things for them.

In the caption from the Facebook post from The King of Queens, they captioned Carrie's response while visiting their friend's lakehouse.

“This should be mine, my fireplace, my living room, my ugly a** pillow with ducks wearing raincoats.”

In this conversation, Doug and Carrie discuss how they were going to go out on the water with Deacon and Kelly that day. Doug states, "I wanna see them pull this up Bear Mountain" as he points to his stomach.

In addition to Bear Mountain, The King of Queens also mentions the Catskills.

Why Did This King Of Queens Episode Mention The Catskills?

The King of Queens episode, Paint Misbehavin' was during Season 3 on Episode 14. During this episode, the crew plans to celebrate Deacon's 33rd birthday.

Deacon mentions how they are throwing him a paintball party in upstate New York. In other parts of this episode, they also include the Catskills.

The group of friends are having a conversation about this party and Carrie questions the idea as she includes,

"We drive a hundred miles up into the Catskills"

They all head up to the Catskills for Deacon's birthday where they have fun and unexpected events take place.

I look forward to watching more of these episodes that mention the Hudson Valley!
