Severe Weather Advisory Issued by New York State Police
Today's most popular topic seems to be the weather. The Hudson Valley is expected to get severe weather starting today and going through Friday.
Today it is really about soaking rain coming through which could also contain some severe thunderstorms. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather notice for tonight and tomorrow.
They have also included information for later in the week in regards to Hurricane Debby bringing rain our way.

Earlier this afternoon the New York State Police also issued a Weather Advisory for New York City, the Mid-Hudson Region, and Long Island. With the expected bad hazardous weather they are prepared to deploy additional Troopers as needed to any areas affected by the heavy rain which may cause localized flooding.
All State Police specialized vehicles, including four-wheel drive vehicles and utility task vehicles, are staged and ready for immediate response. All Troop emergency power and communications equipment has been tested. (via New York State Police Facebook)
It is important that we too get ready so that we aren't caught off guard by rising water. Severe weather can come in fast causing disruptions in power and making local roads difficult to navigate.
