Newburgh, NY Author Ends 2023 on a High Note

When you think of the Hudson Valley and celebrities from the region your mind probably wanders to the Paul Rudds, Jeffrey Dean Morgans and Hilarie Burtons of the area. But when it comes to authors and mystery novels there's one name that comes to mind...

James Patterson.

The mystery novelist was born in Newburgh New York in 1947 and attended Newburgh Free Academy. Even if you're not a big mystery genre, you have probably heard of James Patterson's works. For instance one of his most popular novels Along Came a Spider is the first in a his Alex Cross series released in 1993, and was turned into a movie series as well.

The Newburgh author has seen years of success and continues to do so. Patterson's latest release, What Really Happens in Vegas, was released earlier this month. He also has several projects in the works for 2024 including a book with golfer Tiger Woods.

Patterson Awards $300K in Holiday Bonuses to Independent Bookstores

According to the Associated Press, James Patterson gave 600 employees at independent bookstores a $500 bonus just in time for the holiday.

It means so much to have him recognize the valuable role booksellers play in the industry and we appreciate his financial generosity as well as his generosity of spirit.

James Patterson's next release is due out on January 8th, 2024 called Holmes, Marple & Poe. The book will follow "three intriguing, smart, and stylish private investigators" in New York City.
