The New Year Will Bring New Changes at Popular Hudson Valley Bank

A big change is coming to a popular Hudson Valley Bank in 2024.

Hudson Valley Credit Union is a widely used banking location for many residents across the region with 21 different locations in Dutchess, Putnam, Ulster, Orange, and Westchester counties.

In the new year, all 21 HVCU locations will see a change when it comes to branch hours.

New Branch Hours in 2024 at Hudson Valley Credit Union

Earlier this week in a social media post, Hudson Valley Credit Union announced that starting in 2024 all of their branches will be running on new branch hours. They explain that new hours will begin on Monday, January 22nd, 2024.

HVCU locations in Arlington, Beacon, Brewster, Carmel, Pleasant Valley and Poughkeepsie will follow the schedule in 2024 below:

Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Friday 8:30 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Locations in Chester, Cortlandt Manor, Fishkill, Highland, Hollowbrook, Hopewell Junction, Hyde Park, Kingston, LaGrange, Mahopac Middletown, Montgomery, Newburgh, New Windsor and Rhinebeck will run on the following schedule in 2024:

Monday - Wednesday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Thursday – Friday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

HVCU Customers Voice Their Concerns on New Branch Time Change

Change in any business is tough for customers to get used to. But the biggest concern for HVCU Customers is the early closing times. One of the main perks of being an HVCU customer was having access to the bank until 7 pm. However, with the change, all branches will be closed between 5 pm and 6 pm.

One HVCU customer wrote in the comment section on the bank's Facebook page "These hours suck! Most of us work past those hours. Huge inconvenience!" another added:

I started going to the credit union because of the hours I was able to work out of town all week and still be able to get to the bank on Saturday late afternoon to cash my check or get money out looks like it’s true know one wants to work anymore.

So why the time change? On the Hudson Valley Credit Union website, they explain:

HVCU is committed to evaluating new ways of improving service as modern technology and the behaviors of our membership continue to evolve.

While some customers aren't thrilled with the new time change others are supporting the bank. Another comment read "There literally minimal reasons to go into a bank these days. Get with the times people. Let the employees enjoy some time off too."

While the 21 Hudson Valley Credit Union branches have new hours in 2024, the hours at the Contact Center will stay the same Contact Center
Monday – Friday: 8 am – 7 pm
Saturday: 9 am – 5 pm
