Takeout Restaurant in Fishkill, New York Closes Its Doors

After 14 years of serving guests in Fishkill, New York a "simple" side-of-the-road takeout restaurant says goodbye.

If you've ever driven around Fishkill before you are well aware that there are numerous places to grab a meal. There are a variety of places on Main Street but have you ever traveled through Fishkill on Route 52 towards Beacon and noticed a small simple takeout restaurant on the side of the road near the on and off-ramps for I-84?

Elisa's Takeout Closes

The small takeout restaurant near the entrance to the Quality Inn & Suites and the 84 Diner at 847 Route 52, Fishkill, NY, has announced on Facebook that they have officially closed. Elisa's, which opened 14 years ago on the high traffic route 52 was a popular spot for folks to not only grab something quick to eat but also a great place for ice cream during the warmer months. They announced their closing on Facebook saying,

"To all our wonderful customers, we are sad to inform you that we are closing our doors as of Oct 18th, 2023. For us, nothing has been more rewarding than people's faces when they see their food, or when we hear how they enjoyed it, and the connection our food created with people. We have truly loved serving you all and we are sorry to disappoint you. Your support has always meant a lot to us."

The takeout/ice cream spot was one of my favorite places to grab ice cream in the summer back when I lived in the Fishkill area and like many of their fans I am sad to see them go after 14 years and would like to thank them for being the first place I took my now 17-year-old daughter for her first soft serve ice cream cone! They went on to thank many of their customers online saying,

"The last 14 years have flown by and we will never forget you. Thank you for trying us to Fishkill, Beacon, Hopewell, our customers from across the river, our customers out of state, and all the travelers on I-84."

The building is owned by the same group that owns the 84 Diner and Elisa's thanked them online as well saying, "Special thank you to George, Tony, Dimitri the I-84 Diner for being great landlords and their unbelievably good desserts."

Now that Elisa's is closed, many are wondering what might take its place. As of today, there's no word on whether or not another business will move into the location or not. When more information becomes available we will update this article.
