Police say a man from the upper Hudson Valley crashed his truck into law enforcement vehicles the night of February 12. According to BNN Breaking, the impact from the crash was so severe it rendered the vehicles "inoperable".

However, sources say the suspect was quite a ways from his home town the night of the incident.

Greene County Man Allegedly Crashed Truck Into Police Vehicles 

BNN reports that a 59-year-old man from the hamlet of Climax, New York was allegedly intoxicated when he crashed his pickup truck into two parked Nassau County Police vehicles late Monday night. Officials say no one was in the parked police vehicles at the time of the crash.

LongIsland.com says the crash happened in Valley Stream, Long Island. The parked vehicles were empty at the time, as authorities were answering an unrelated call, says LongIsland.com.

According to Wikipedia, Climax is a hamlet in the town of Coxsackie, located in Greene County, New York. According to Places.US.com, Climax has an estimated population of around 271 people.

New York's Dirtiest Sounding Town Name

So according to the folks at FanMaps, this is what they've picked:

Butternuts.

That's the name of the town located in Otsego County in the central part of the state.

According to the 2010 census, Butternuts has 1,786 residents and borders the Unadilla River. According to Wikipedia, the name is believed to have come from three butternut trees growing from one stump that originally marked the corner of the townships of what is now New Lisbon, Pittsfield, and Morris.

While New York is certainly home to a plethora of hidden gems and breathtaking sights, Road Snacks has highlighted the state's most undesirable spots.

As for what determines what makes a city or town one of the "worst" places to live, Road Snacks compared 163 cities with 5,000 or more residents, to find those with the lowest median home value, weakest school districts, and highest rates of unemployment and crime. In short, the survey ranked cities and towns based off their economic performance and opportunity for growth, which Road Snacks says impacts the quality of life of its residents.

In the end, these 10 cities were deemed to be the worst New York State has to offer. That said, the company is not calling these cities bad - so if you have an issue, take it up with Road Snacks. We're just reporting their findings.
