The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze Returns to Van Cortlandt Manor

There's a chance you may have already made your way to see the Hudson Valley's greatest jack o'lantern display since its been open since September. But being that we are in October and spooky season is officially underway, you may need a reminder to check out this spooky spectacle!

Meander through an 18th-century landscape and discover a breathtaking display of more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’ lanterns—all designed and hand-carved on site by our team of artisans. New for 2023, you can see the twirling pumpkin Ferris wheel and take in our gourd-eous circus sideshow! The display is complete with synchronized lighting and an original soundtrack, this one-of-a-kind event is not to be missed!

All proceeds from Blaze and our other Halloween events support the programs of Historic Hudson Valley, a non-profit education organization. Even if you don't think you'll be able to attend the event before Halloween because you are just too busy, don't worry because the Blaze is open until November 19th! Help Build The "My Westchester" Calendar for 2024

As you can see below, the October #MyWestchester photo is from The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor. The picture was taken by Tom Nycz for Historic Hudson Valley. Westchester County Government encourages residents to send in pictures using the hashtag #MyWestchester on social media. By using the hashtag, you can possibly be selected to featured on their websites, newsletter and social media accounted. New photos are selected each month.

Not just that, but they need help creating their "My Westchester" 2024 Calendar. Every year, Westchester County Government publishes a “My Westchester” Calendar to be distributed to friends and neighbors across the County. Within its pages are pieces of art – a compilation of photographs submitted to County government by residents, employees, organizations and active members of our communities.

To have a photo be considered for the calendar, send it to communications@westchestergov.com. Again, use the hashtag #MyWestchester, and your artwork may be featured in the next calendar.
