A frightening sequence of phone calls and voicemail messages on Wednesday March 20th resulted in a bomb threat investigation with multiple agency involvement in Orange County.

Putnam County Sheriff's Office Receives Bomb Threat Message About Orange County Hospital

In a press release from the Town of Wallkill Police Department, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office placed a call to the Town of Wallkill Police on the evening of Wednesday March 20th regarding a 'third party caller receiving a voicemail indicating a bomb threat at Garnet Health Medical Center.'

Reports go on to detail that the threat seemed to stem from a phone call that came out of the Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center in Goshen.

After conferring with Garnet Health Medical Center's Security Team, other agencies including the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Chester K9 unit, and Village of Goshen K9 unit responded to the hospital to begin their investigation.

Garnet Health Facility Searched After Bomb Threat

An exterior search of 707 East Main Street in the Town of Wallkill, which is the Garnet Health building and grounds, was conducted by responding agencies, and did not yield any concerns, explosive devices, or responsible persons, according to the press release. Wallkill Police also indicated that there were no reported injuries, and hospital services ran without any disruption.

At this time, an investigation of the bomb threat call and voicemail message continues, under the direction of the Town of Wallkill Detectives.
