I spent most of my Thanksgiving break re-watching The Sopranos, it's my favorite tv show of all time. One of the focal points of the first season is the ducks that land in Tony Soprano's pool. I love wildlife, and that storyline hit really close to home for me. At my place in Waterbury, we have a wetland area right out back, and I spend most of the Spring watching the ducks that skitter around the little pond, looking for something to munch on.

I just saw a Facebook post from the Sharon Audubon Center that caught my attention, it starts out with the headline - FOUND DUCK. The post goes on to explain what has happened. According to the post, Sharon Audubon Center, which is located at 325 Cornwall Bridge Road, is looking for the owners of a duck that was found on the side of the road in Goshen yesterday (Sunday, November 28, 2021), and was brought to their rehabilitation center this morning. Don't worry, the duck is reportedly in excellent shape, and it has an ID band around it's leg.

If you live around Goshen, and you happen to notice that you're missing a duck, the Sharon Audubon Center would love to get your fine feathered friend back to you. Please reach out to them at 860-364-0520, Extension 106, or you can e-mail their rehabilitator directly at sunny.kellner@audubon.org with identification details to claim your lost duck.

I've gone the common route when it comes to pets, I've never known anyone that kept ducks as pets. From what I can gather, they do make good pets, as long as you have the land and water. Hopefully this message will find the wandering duck from Goshen's owners. Thank you Sharon Audubon Center for helping, and for trying to reunite.

Greater Danbury Bobcat Sightings, Too Close for Comfort

This morning (4/28/21) on the Ethan and Lou Show we were discussing a viral video from North Carolina. In it, a couple was brutally attacked by a rabid bobcat but according to USA Today, they are going to be OK.

This sent me off on a tirade about bobcats because this happens to be one of my pet peeves. In the Greater-Danbury area, wildlife sightings are frequent and when one animal gets photographed, everyone piles on and says, yeah me too You saw a bear? I saw a bear!

I made the case that too many people are claiming to have seen bobcats recently, and with no proof. I said, look I know they are prevalent but they can't be around in the numbers that people will have you believe. Every Frank and Fran in the area says they saw one yesterday.

I said, if you saw a bobcat, prove it. It looks like I may have been underestimating the bobcats and the Ethan and Lou listeners because they did prove it and in a hurry. These are the Greater-Danbury Bobcat Sightings That are Too Close for Comfort.
