I still can't believe that I didn't know this. It seems like every other day I do something to embarrass myself completely. I try to have a good sense of humor about it and learn something from it.

Lately, I really dread going to the gas station for a ton of reasons.  It's always busy and I know I'm about to spend a crazy amount of money just to fill up my car. However, from another embarrassing moment, I learned an interesting hack at the gas station.

What happened at the gas station?

My car is still pretty new and I have to put gas in on the opposite side of the car compared to my other one. The other day I pulled in to get gas and noticed that my gas cap was on the other side and I pulled in completely wrong. Everyone was looking and I had to drive all the way around to get to the correct pump. Ugh, it was embarrassing...

Is there a trick to help prevent this at the gas station?

Yes, and I have been using it ever since. A few people told me that if you look at your fuel gauge and notice an arrow, that's your sign for what side of the car you find your gas cap and put your gas in. Again seems crazy, but I did not know this until recently.
