Mom's seem to get showered with gifts and praise as they should but do dads get the short of the stick on most if not all holidays?

Father's Day is quickly approaching and I can't help but have a familiar feeling. It's a feeling that I felt last December during Christmas, in February Valentine's Day and again in March for my wedding anniversary.

I'm even talking about Father's Day.

It's the feeling like dudes aren't celebrated that much on these special days. I'm not sure if these holidays or events are really for dads or even men for that matter. They are supposed to celebrate both but it seems like they are more for women.

I shower my wife with gifts and on some holidays there doesn't seem to be reciprocation. This seems acceptable. I think women have taken over Valentine's Day in a lot of relationships.

I personally don't feel as appreciated on most holidays. Not as appreciated as I set out to make my wife.

I made sure I went all out on those days for my wife. She's 6 months pregnant and I even made sure we celebrated Mother's Day. I got her gifts, a massage and took her out to dinner. We'll see if I get anything for Father's Day. So far nothing seems to be planned.

Most occasions men seem to get the same old things like socks and cologne. There's a stereotype that men are easy to please. If you're Father's Day celebrations are usually pretty traditional for the dad in your life maybe this is the year to change things up. Ask what he wants and really make it about him.

Don't just go through the motions.
