Do you ever notice that you feel uplifted after having a good laugh? It could be that we feel a sense of relief, a more relaxed feeling and in a positive mood.
I have been hearing about more comedy shows within the Hudson Valley which is something that I have been wanting to experience.
In Ulster County, NY a popular spot will be the latest Hudson Valley comedy hub filled with comedians, local residents and those who are a part of the Borscht Belt community.

This popular museum explained that they are
"Dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Catskills Resort Era. Ellenville, NY."
The Borscht Belt Museum is a place where we learn about the Borscht Belt Region within Ulster County, NY.
The Borscht Belt Museum shared,
"For generations of Jews in the New York metropolitan area, there was no doubt about the location of those “mountains.”
The Borscht Belt Region was an escape, a place where friends, family and loved ones could spend time together.
The Borscht Belt Museum also explained that those who visited this area would look forward to taking in summertime in the Hudson Valley with fresh food and clean air.
The Borscht Belt Museum shared additional information of how the area looked.
"From the turn of the 20th century to the 1970s, more than 1,000 hotels, bungalow colonies, summer camps and boarding houses dotted the Catskill Mountains of southern New York"
Some may know this area or region to be called Solomon County, Jewish Alps or The Mountains. However, the Borscht Belt was also another term that most people remember the most.
The Borscht Belt Museum In Ellenville, NY Is Reopening In Spring 2024
In the summer of 2023, I visited the Borscht Belt Museum in Ellenville. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a humorous sign stating "Come in and schmooze, free admission".
It was fun to learn about the history of the Borscht Belt region and to see items from residents of the Borscht Belt area that they had on display.
The pop-up Borscht Belt museum is filled with pictures of the past with stories that tell themselves and memories that live on with pieces of unique items from the time period as well.
I learned that the museum is a pop-up for now, they will continue to change the setup as well.
On November 19, 2023, the Borscht Belt Museum made a post on social media about how they were temporarily closing for the winter months.
I'm looking forward to the Borscht Belt Museum reopening in Spring of 2024. 2025 marks the year that the Borscht Belt Museum will officially open.
The Borscht Belt Fest Will Take Place In Ellenville, NY In July 2024

The Borscht Belt Fest will happen in downtown Ellenville, NY on Saturday, July 27, 2024, and Sunday, July 28, 2024. Guests can look forward to two days of fun, entertainment, food and more.
The Borscht Belt Museum Is Hosting First Comedy Series In Ellenville, NY
The Borscht Belt Museum is starting something new. They will be hosting their "first Borscht Belt night of comedy".
This will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 7 pm at Shadowland Stages in Ellenville, NY.
This event will feature Rachel Williams, Eitan Levine, Jesse Eigner, and Michael Hirsch.
General admission is only $25, there are no exchanges or refunds and all sales are final. This event is 16+ only and 13+ with a parent.
The Borscht Belt Museum is "Bringing stand-up back to the Catskills!" with New York Comedy Club.
