Cheers to International Beer Day 8/7, Will You Raise a Pint?
If ever you needed an excuse to pick up a pint and cheers someone, you might be able to use Covid (that pretty much is the reason for everything right now), the clean-up after a tropical storm that no one really knew how to pronounce, or how about it being International Beer Day?
Pick anyone or all of the above as reasons to toast a pint, bottle or can.
What is beer anyway? According to Dictionary.com it is: an alcoholic beverage made by brewing and fermentation from cereals, usually malted barley, and flavored with hops and the like for a slightly bitter taste
According to my favorite version of the dictionary, Urban Dictionary, as I am always surprised what I will find when I look something/anything up there. Here is the cleanest, least controversial definition that they have for beer (sic):
a liquid form of carbohydrates that should be drank as a replacement for all other liquids, especially water
i'm hungry, where is the beer for my cereal
that was a hard workout, i should rehydrate, where is my beer
Do you think that this is one of those holidays that you have never heard of, thus it must be a 'new fangled holiday?' The first International Beer Day was celebrated in August of 2008 and according to Internationalbeerday.com, it is celebrated in over 200 cities.
