Changes to Dutchess County Transportation Effective 8/3
If you find yourself riding the bus in Dutchess County and have been enjoying doing it for free, get ready for that and a few other things to change on August 3, 2020.
As of Monday, August 3, 2020, you will need to start doing the following things (again, in some cases).
- You will need to start paying a fare again, (both fixed-route and same-day service).
- You will also need to be wearing a face covering or a mask in order to ride the bus system. According to the Dutchess.Gov/transportation website, for the safety of everyone and to stop the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus, riders and bus drivers are required by the State to wear a face covering.
Dutchess County Public Transport has been running back on a full schedule since June 6, 2020.

If you are looking to see where your bus is in real-time, you can check out the online bus tracker (it's pretty cool to see where the bus is). Click here for the online tracker, it will open in a new window.
Just a reminder, single full-priced fares are $1.75 each way. Reduced fares are available as are multi-ride and monthly tickets. For more information you can check out the Dutchess County Public Transit website, by clicking here.
