One local credit union is taking extra precautions by closing one of their branches to protect customers from potentially spreading COVID-19.

After about 9 months into the pandemic, news of a business closing shouldn't sock anyone. Even with safety measures in place the sad reality is that whenever you set foot inside of a business you put yourself at some level of risk of being exposed to the coronavirus.

A credit union in the Hudson Valley has temporarily closed their doors after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

According to an email to their customers, the Mid-Hudson Federal Credit Union recently found out that one of their employees had tested positive for COVID-19. The email stated that the employee was working last week on November 24 at the Main Kingston Branch. The email also announced that all customers who chad contact with this individual has been notified.

As a result of the positive test, the Mid-Hudson Federal Credit Union has decided to temporarily close the Main Kingston Branch from in person tellers on November 30. During the closing a deep cleaning of the facility will occur.

On Monday November 30, a section of the building will remain open from 8am to 8pm for the automatic teller machines to still be used. You can still conduct limited business through the ATM's.

At this point, all other Mid-Hudson Federal Credit Union locations will remain open.
