World Environment Day, Is It Different from Earth Day?
You have probably heard of Earth Day which takes place on April 22 every year, but have you heard of World Environment Day? Are the two the same or how do they differ?
Earth Day is a United States based event that has started to spread throughout the world. This day focuses on cleaning up our natural resources and learning how people can recycle, reduce and reuse, along with making sure that renewable resources are available for generations to come.
World Environment Day, which takes place every year on June 5, focuses more on engaging governments, businesses, celebrities and citizens to focus their efforts on a pressing environmental issue.
So is there a difference between Earth Day and World Environment Day? Think of this as Earth Day on a much larger scale. This year the host countries are Columbia and Germany.
Will you head outside this weekend and think about what you can do for the environment and Mother Earth?
