Win $200 by Designing the New Paltz Rescue Squad Uniform Patch

Do you have a creative mind? Do you like to design things? If so you maybe just the person that the New Paltz Rescue Squad is looking for to help with their current project. They are hoping to redesign their patch and they have made a contest out of it.

According to a Facebook post from earlier today (September 29, 2020) the New Paltz Rescue Squad is giving the general public the opportunity to redesign the patch they wear on their uniform. The winning design will win $200. The current patch can be seen below or on their Facebook page.

The hope is that they can have a design that represents the community they serve and what they do for the New Paltz area. SUNY New Paltz students a long with community member are all encourage to submit a design. This is a fun opportunity if you are an art student to ad something cool to your portfolio.

I won't be adding my limited artistic skills to this challenge but if I were going to venture a design I did give some thought to what I would put on it. I would include the words New Paltz Rescue Squad and I would also incorporate a few recognizable New Paltz symbols such as the ridge or even a stone house. I would also change the patch colors to black, green and white.
