If there's one thing that we can all agree upon as being human beings, it is the fact that we love animals. However, if we came across someone who didn't, we probably would think differently of them.

It seems that everyone has either a dog, a cat, a bunny, or some other pet/companion in their lives.

Our pets have become such a huge part of our homes and lives.

Growing up, I always had pets and I couldn't imagine my life without their loving nature and silly personalities. They always find a way to brighten even our darkest days.

There isn't anything that we wouldn't do for them.

Thankfully, veterinarians give our fur babies the medical attention that they need. At times, this may entail a check-up, an office visit with a concern, surgery, or advice on hard decisions. I know that the veterinarians that I have been to have been wonderful and helped extend the lives of the pets that I have had.

There are more opportunities for our pets to receive low-cost medical care.

Here in the Hudson Valley, there are discounted services for local residents' pets. Organizations have come together to make sure that our furry friends get the care that they need at a low cost.

Kind-hearted folks who tend to feral cat colonies have also been able to TNR with the assistance of such organizations. Low-cost vet visits allow us to help the community when in need. It's true what they said, love makes the world go round.

A Hudson Valley organization will be hosting a low-cost surgery event for cats.

T.A.R.A. will be hosting this for Newburgh residents only. There will be $10 surgeries available for friendly cats in the area. The surgeries consist of feline, spay, and neuter.

Thanks to a grant from Petco Love, this event was able to take place. Be sure to call them for an appointment at 845-343-1000.

This will take place on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

T.A.R.A. is known as The Animal Rights Alliance Inc.

T.A.R.A. truly has changed the lives of thousands of animals. They have spayed and neutered over 153,000 cats within the last 20 years. T.A.R.A. has also done the same for over 23,000 dogs within the last 8 years. They have a stationary clinic which is located in Middletown, New York.

Their mission is to simply reduce the number of not only stray but unwanted and abandoned cats and dogs. This organization was founded in the 1980s and continues to change lives on a daily basis.

In March of 2022, T.A.R.A. took out their mobile spay, neuter clinic with the hope to focus on assisting more cats. Since then, they have made a difference in the world.

They allow the community to give their pets the proper medical care at a lower, affordable price.
