In her upcoming memoir, Rememberings, Sinead O'Connor opens up about an argument and disturbing "pillow fight" she claims to have had with Prince.

In an except from the book (available via People), the singer-songwriter writes that she spent an evening at Prince's house after he invited her to come "hang out." She says Prince asked if she wanted a drink and then slammed down a glass, saying, "Get it yourself." He then started "stalking up and down, one hand rubbing his chin, looking me up and down" and criticized her "swearing" in recent print interviews.

"I don't work for you," she recalls responding. "If you don't like it, you can f--- yourself." Prince, she writes, then left and later came back with a pair of pillows.

"I think, It wouldn't be everyday that you'd get to have a pillow fight with Prince . . . let's try to make it a fun evening after the sh--ty start," she writes. "Only on the first thump, I realize he's got something stuffed in the pillow, designed to hurt. He ain't playing at all. I make a run for it. I call my friend Ciara to pick me up."

O'Connor, who previously referenced a "frightening" pillow fight with Prince, reflected on the encounter in a new interview with People, saying, "It certainly didn't change my opinion of him as an artist, which was the only opinion I could have had. I never knew him otherwise. Obviously, I came away not liking him very much and not particularly wanting to go around to see him again. But having said that, though, I won't lie. I didn't like the man."

Prince famously wrote "Nothing Compares 2 U" for 1985's The Family, the debut album from his side project of the same name. O'Connor covered the song four years later and scored an international hit, topping the Billboard Hot 100.
