There’s nothing like fresh baked goodies from local bakeries. I love bringing treats to my family and friends gathering. During the holidays, we can support our local businesses in need while supplying holiday dessert, even if it is just for you. It seems that local bakeries have higher quality ingredients, have a bigger selection and most importantly, are thankful for your support. Have you heard of the 12 days of desserts of Christmas? Nicole form Whipped Gourmet Cupcakes always dreamed of her own cupcake company. Since 2009, Whipped Gourmet Cupcakes has been a sensation here in the Hudson Valley. This local bakery not only has cupcakes but cakes and French pastries as well. They also have items on their menu specialty for Christmas. Be sure to indulge in a delicious baked good or two from Whipped Cupcakes.

• Something Sweet Dessert Café

I have heard great things about Something Sweet Dessert Café but haven’t been there yet. They have Italian style pastries, cakes and light lunches. Anna from Something Sweet Dessert Café started this business in 2004. Anna and her husband, Dave added dinner to the menu as their business grew. Stop by this place to pick up a delicious dessert or hang out and have dinner with a glass of wine.

This is another café that I must add to my Hudson Valley dessert tasting bucket list. From waffles to cookies and fresh baked pastries, Sweetbakes Café has a large variety to match your sweet tooth. They also have cakes for different celebrations, cake pops and cupcakes. Check out this super cute spot and be sure to grab me a treat as well.
