Three cities in New York have been named among the best places to celebrate Father's Day this year, and one of them is right here in the Hudson Valley, NY.

Father's Day is right around the corner, and if you're still trying to figure out what to do for Dad, it turns out you don't have to travel very far to find one of the best places in the country to celebrate.

New York Cities Earn High Marks for Father's Day Fun

The folks at The Golf Warehouse recently analyzed 100 of the largest metro areas in the United States to determine the best cities for Father's Day celebrations. Researchers looked at 14 different factors, including the number of golf courses, steakhouses, breweries, fishing access, outdoor recreation opportunities, entertainment options, affordability, walkability, and even weather conditions.

After crunching the numbers, three New York cities landed in the national top 10.

Rochester finished as the second-best city in America for Father's Day celebrations, while Poughkeepsie came in sixth and Buffalo ranked eighth overall.

Poughkeepsie Named One of the Best For Father's Day in Nation

For Hudson Valley residents, seeing Poughkeepsie land in the top 10 is something to celebrate.

The city earned an overall score of 56.3 out of 100 and stood out for offering plenty of activities during Father's Day weekend. According to the rankings, Poughkeepsie is scheduled to host 20 ticketed Father's Day weekend events and ranks second in the nation for breweries per 100,000 residents.

Golf-loving dads will also have plenty of options, as Poughkeepsie ranked fifth nationally for golf courses per 100,000 residents. The area is home to popular courses including McCann Memorial Golf Course, Vassar Golf Course, College Hill Golf Course, and Casperkill Country Club.

Good News for New York Families

The fact that Rochester, Poughkeepsie, and Buffalo all landed in the national top 10 shows that New York offers plenty of opportunities to make Father's Day memorable without having to travel far from home.
