Organizers are planning on trying again in 2022.

This year was supposed to be a 50th year celebration of the Rhinebeck Antique Car Show and Swap Meet, and instead it looks like we will have to wait another year to celebrate. According to a Facebook post from one of the car show board members, the event scheduled for the first weekend in May at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, has been canceled due to health concerns. The post stated, "After much deliberation and heartache, the Executive Board of the Rhinebeck Car Show is canceling the 2021 car show event."

The post did recognize that car show fans might see some smaller car shows in the Hudson Valley this spring and summer, but they wanted to remind fans that due to the size of their event, they are required to follow a different set of State and County guidelines, to be able to put on a good show, which is why they have decided to cancel.

Not the news that car show fans like me wanted to hear, for the second year, but the good news is that they did announce that the 50th anniversary celebration we take place next year, on May 6, 7, 8, of 2022. If you made plans to be at the car show this year and made your prepayment for your spot, organizers did say, "We want to thank everyone who allowed us to keep their Rhinebeck 2020 prepayment to apply to Rhinebeck 2021 and hope you will again allow us to apply the payment to the 2022 event."

If you choose to have your payment refunded you can email them, swap meet vendors at, allbuickman@gmail.com and for car show registration refunds, jadoyle@frontiernet.net.
