Amazon Prime Day Dedicates 4 Days to Sales
If you were looking for steals and deals, you may be out of time. Amazon Prime Day ran from June 23rd through June 26th, 2026.
This year Amazon extended Prime Day from 2 days to 4 days.
There were sales on everything from clothing and furniture to toys and electronics. If you were looking for sales, all you had to do was open your Amazon app.
Now that Amazon Prime Day is in the rearview, if you partook in the purchasing of sale items you'll likely have a few packages at your door in the next few days.
Local law enforcement is reminding Hudson Valley residents that porch pirates are always lurking and they want your packages to be safe.
NYS Police Warn of Porch Pirates Following Amazon Prime Day
The New York State Police are warning New Yorkers about Porch Pirates following Amazon Prime Day.
On Facebook the New York State Police write Amazon Prime Day (June 23–26) means millions of packages arriving on doorsteps across the country." They add:
With increased deliveries comes increased opportunity for package thieves.
The New York State Police also share that if you see something suspicious in your neighborhood report it to law enforcement.
New York State Police Share Delivery Safety Tips
Of course the New York State Police shared several ways to keep your Amazon and other packages safe.
According to their post there are a few simple steps to "help safeguard" your deliveries.
The New York State Police say you should be tracking and expected delivery times, adding you should "Retrieve packages as soon as possible"
They also suggest the following:
• Use delivery alerts and photo confirmations
• Have packages delivered to a trusted neighbor or secure pickup location
• Install exterior lighting and security cameras when possible
And as always, stay as vigilant as possible.
