Tis the season to enjoy our favorite nature walks and hikes again! I’ve been looking forward to being outside more, soaking in mother nature and exploring our trails since it got chilly.

We don’t have to travel far to get the entire experience of all that we desire from a trail experience.

What Are Your Favorite Hiking Trails In The Hudson Valley?

Some of the most popular hiking trails within the Hudson Valley area include Anthony’s Nose, Bear Mountain State Park, Franny Reese State Park, Mount Beacon and more.

Not all but some Hudson Valley locals like to keep their favorite hiking trails a secret so that it doesn’t get too overpopulated. This is a secret that I like to know about though!

A popular Hudson Valley hiking area received an exciting nomination and residents can help them get to the top with their vote.

Is This Nominated Hudson Valley Hiking Trail Truly The Best?

I wonder if you would agree with this nomination. In April 2025, Mohonk Preserve made an exciting announcement on their social media. They included

Mohonk Preserve has been nominated for Best Hiking Trail, as part of USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards!”

They also explained that we can vote for them until Monday, May 12, 2025. We can vote for Mohonk Preserve once a day up until the final date. Additional info about Mohonk Preserve’s nomination can be found with USA Today.

This must be such a great honor to those who help run Mohonk Preserve. With all of their time and dedication, this preserve can give themselves a pat on the back for being nominated. This popular destination is located in Gardiner, NY.

I’ve visited Mohonk Preserve, besides this hiking area I also believe that there are other locations that deserve a nomination as well.

What Other Hudson Valley Hiking Trails Would You Consider To Be The Best?

After all of this hiking talk, I want to get out on the trail now! There are other hiking trails that deserve to be nominated as the best and I chose Minnewaska State Park Preserve for the Sam’s Point Area. I love visiting this location and exploring the ice caves.

I’ll continue to share my secrets. The Zena Cornfield is a beautiful nature walk, hiking area within the Ulster County, NY area. Lastly, the Ashokan Reservoir has some beautiful views of the Hudson Valley area. This could be for a simple stroll, bike ride or some could make it into a hike if they find a trail to hop on off of the Reservoir.

What are we waiting for? Let’s get outside and explore these beautiful trails that others travel to experience right in our area.
