So you are getting ready for your weekend holiday get together and you thought you were doing the 'right' thing by purchasing a pre-made, pre-washed salad in the bag?

More than likely you saved yourself a bunch of time, but double check it if you purchased the "Fresh Express" brand. The company has done a voluntary recall after there were several reports of people getting sick from eating it.

Which bags are a part of the recall? In the statement that the company released, they said to look at the individual product code. The ones that are involved all start with the letter "Z" at the beginning of that product code (which you will find on the upper right-hand corner of the package. Look for the words "Product Code: Z178 or a lower "Z" number.

The bags of salad mix were sold in 21 states and the District of Columbia (yes, they were sold in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut). At this time, there are no other Fresh Express Products that are a part of the recall.

If you have one of the affected products, do not eat it. If you have a question or want more info as to how to obtain a refund, click here, for the Fresh Express form to fill out.
