Magic: The Gathering Night at Newburgh Brewing Company
This week the tables at the Newburgh Brewing Company will be filled with beers, food and cards. A famous artist will be there signing cards as well.
If you go to a local comic book shop there's a good chance you'll find a group of people playing one of the most popular card games on the planet. Magic: The Gathering has gained a massive following over the last three decades. There are roughly 100,000 to 150,000 players online playing each day on Active Player. There's a chance to play in person this week here locally.
Check out the Taproom this Thursday at 6pm to play Magic: the Gathering along with other enthusiasts of the game right here in the Hudson Valley. All formats of the game and beginners are welcome a the event.
The night will also have a special guest hanging out for fans of the game. Eric Deschamps will be there signing cards and selling Magic: the Gathering original artwork.. Eric is an illustrator for Magic: the Gathering cards and children’s book illustrator. Eric’s first Magic card was Goblin S.W.A.T. Team from the Unhinged set almost 20 years ago. Since then he’s illustrated prominent planeswalker cards and Commander favorites, including Balefire Dragon; Celestial Colonnade; Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh; Dack Fayden; Elspeth, Sun’s Champion; Esper Sentinel; Fatal Push; Giada, Font of Hope; Gideon, Ally of Zendikar; Nahiri, the Lithomancer; Olivia Voldaren; Ral Zarek; Tireless Tracker; and Tamiyo, the Moon Sage.
Karaoke will kick off in the taproom at 7pm.
