Iconic Lake George Waterfront Boat Goes Up In Flames

In the early morning hours on December 8th, 2025, a staple on Lake George was engulfed in flames.

Reports from WNYT NewsChannel 13 explain that flames could be seen coming from the Adirondac just before 7 am Monday morning.

The Adirondac, part of the Lake George Waterfront Marina family, has been in service since 2004 providing tours on the lake, dinner cruises and weddings. The 115-foot luxury ship fits 400 guests and cruises around Lake George until December.

Firefighters battled the flames, but the blaze caused excessive damage to the cruise ship.

News Channel 13 is reporting that there is currently no ruling as to what caused the fire, but it's not suspicious.

However, Warren County spokesman Don Lehman told WNYT that they weren't sure if space heaters were being used on the ship, but there had been an "ongoing effort" to keep the boat from freezing.

Lake George's Adirondac Will Rebuild

The flames were knocked down with help from several responding fire departments including Lake George, Bay Ridge, North Queensbury, Bolton and Warrensburg.

After the blaze was put out and The Lake George Waterfront was able to debrief, they released a statement to social media.

In the statement they write :

This has been a heartbreaking moment for our Waterfront Family and our community, but we want to end on the note that matters most: the Adirondac will return with the same dedication, spirit, and heart that Lake George has known her for.

They also add that they are "deeply grateful for the overwhelming support" from the community.
