Hi, my name is...The Town of Poughkeepsie needs your help filling in the blank.

Winter is on It's Way To the Hudson Valley

It may not feel like it right now, but the winter weather will be here before you know it.

While most of the Hudson Valley is hoping for significant rainfall to battle these drought like conditions and the wildfires around the region, others are preparing for November snow.

According to the National Weather service parts of the Hudson Valley will see some snow this week. As far as we can tell, it will start off as rain, and then switch over to a wet snow.

The National Weather Service goes on to report that the Hudson Valley may see "measurable" snow by December 2nd. Just in time as the plows are being dusted off across all the counties in the region.

All entries must be submitted by Thursday, December 12th, 2024 and you can submit as many name ideas as you want. Voting begins on Monday, December 16th as "all suggested names will be made public and pitted against each other in head-to-head matchups" as the Town of Poughkeepsie explains on their website.

Voting will take place on The Town of Poughkeepsie Recreation Facebook page daily.
